George Mason University's Engineers for International Development (EfID) won the Second Place prize of $7500 in the 2015 National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) Engineering Award competition. The award was established to promote understanding of the value of licensure and to encourage partnerships between the engineering profession and education. connecting professional practice and education.
EfID's project to develop water supply, distribution, and storage capacity in Sabana Grande, Nicaragua is a collaboration between Mason student engineers and practicing civil engineers. The team aims to enhance infrastructure in this developing community.
