Bioengineering professor Juan Cebral continues his groundbreaking work on brain aneurysms with a $115K grant funded by the Mayo Clinic and NIH. Cebral is incorporating precision medicine to help refine how patients with aneurysms receive treatment. He’s also developing a better understanding of the processes responsible for aneurysm growth and rupture. One aspect of the research is improving the diagnosis--who needs to be treated and when--and another aspect involves how to best treat and to optimize procedures and devices by learning more about how these devices affect the aneurysm.
