Bioengineering professor Siddhartha Sikdar and his team are working on a nearly $1 million grant from the U.S. Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity to find a noninvasive method using ultrasound to detect muscle movement so prosthetic hands can seem natural to use. This multidisciplinary project includes Sikdar, Parag Chitnis, and Wilsaan Joiner of the Bioengineering Department; Guoqing Diao of the Statistics Dept.; and Michelle Harris-Love of the College of Health and Human Services.
