As of July 15, 2025, the School of Computing in George Mason's College Engineering and Computing is officially renamed the Long Nguyen and Kimmy Duong School of Computing. The school has been renamed to recognize the $20 million gift from the Kimmy Duong Foundation. The financial gift will provide scholarships to undergraduate students enrolled in degree programs offered in the school.

Yevin Goonatilake hasn’t slowed down since becoming George Mason University’s youngest graduate with a 4.0 in December. In fact, he’s only picked up speed. Now 16, the Leesburg, Virginia, native has added another milestone to his remarkable journey—completing a master’s degree in computer science, making him the youngest person in university history to do so.

George Mason University received a gift with an impact of $36 million from the Kimmy Duong Foundation to name the Long Nguyen and Kimmy Duong School of Computing within the College of Engineering and Computing. The university’s Board of Visitors approved the name change on April 1, and it will become official pending approval from the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia this summer.
